He later discovered the tree has a historic past; a soldier from the Battle of Gettysburg once wrote a letter home describing this exact tree because it was the largest he had ever seen. The author wants you to read this book about personal growth and spiritual awakening slowly. The book is meant to help you find your "personal truth."
